CDA is a town in north Idaho that I make an effort to visit about once every year. I have family there and was able to visit last week to attend a cousin's wedding. If you're looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of large cities, this is the vacation spot for you! From the Coeur d'Alene resort to the shops, restaurants, and bars downtown along Sherman to the antique/thrift stores across 4th street there are plenty of activities to occupy your time. There are also endless trails and scenic hikes to venture onto (see a photo from our Tubbs hill hike below). A short drive away, you could stroll through the historic downtown buildings in Spokane, Washington or visit the oldest building in Idaho, a retired Jesuit mission at Cataldo.
North Idaho experiences all four seasons so be sure to select your vacation's timing appropriately. In the fall season, the views are incredible as the leaves change, in the summer, active beach days are the way to go along the lake. In the winter, the snow allow for sledding and then cozying up by a fireplace and a cup or two of coffee. The coffee culture is strong here and you won't walk a block without coming across a drive through human bean, lost bean, Dutch bros, Java, the Vault, Calypsos, Starbucks, or Grumpy Monkey (which I'm of course biased to since that's the shop where my beautiful cousins work).
