Smoothies. Pitaya and Acai bowls. Ginger shots. These are a few of my favorite things and I'll explain why:
1.) There are sooo many ways to mix it up. You can add strawberries, blueberries, spinach, mango, banana, raspberries, peaches (essentially any fruit), almond milk, cashew milk, coconut water, almond butter, and even PEANUT BUTTER... And let's face it, anything with peanut butter is just so much better.
2.) Acai is a superfood! Acai berries contain antioxidants, fiber and heart-healthy fats. They may have more antioxidant content than other commonly eaten berries and they taste so good.
3.) Pitaya (dragon fruit) is giving acai a run for its money. It's high in Vitamin C and phosphorous, low in sugar and full of antioxidants...and it's really pretty.
4.) Ginger Shots- I take mine mixed with pineapple, but you can add your favorite ingredients to the ginger shot such as cayenne pepper, honey, turmeric; or add orange or lemon juice. Ginger boasts anti-nausea, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant compounds. Ginger supports healthy digestion and immunity; helps to fight the fatigue. Add this to your daily lunch routine and you'll feel the difference! 5.) They are easy and fun! What's better for a meal on-the-go than a smoothie? A quick 2 oz. shot of ginger takes no time from your busy day and eating a bowl full of acai blended with fruit and topped with granola, honey, and more fruit feels more like eating dessert than a meal.
